Spring has Sprung
The Bees Ain’t the Only Ones Getting Busy
And by “getting busy” I just mean doing a lot of stuff, you know, lots of activities in these streets. If you was thinking of the other “getting busy,” you nasty and I’m telling your mama!
The spring, as per usual, is a super busy time for me as I barrel toward the end of the academic semester (my grades are due in two weeks!) and push to keep the momentum going for the writers taking classes with me through my independent teaching gigs. Not to mention, spring time is when folks start getting all their events on the calendar. I’m thankful for the active, inclusive writing community that I’m in, so let’s just get into it!
Workshops and Thangs… In order of appearance…
Hub City Writers’ Project
There are still a few seats left!
In this interactive, generative workshop, writers will explore how memory both inspires and informs memoir writing. Through discussion, writing prompts, and short exercises, writers will (re)discover the intersections of creative inquiry and lived experience to craft their own resonant, reflective stories that are begging to be told.
Reckoning With Remembrance
We use selected readings, memory-mining exercises, and generative writing, research, and revision prompts to create work that engages both sides our brains, and ultimately, our whole hearts.
Mondays 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. CST
Starting May 25th!
